FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Paper Conservation and Recycling Efforts Make an Impact
Fairfield, NJ (July 29, 2008) - Archive Systems, a leading provider of accounts payable automation and records management services, today announced that the company's Go Green initiative has been significantly enhanced by ASPEN 360 Accounts Payable Edition.
ASPEN 360 removes paper from the accounts payable process. It enables vendors to send electronic invoices to the Invoice Virtualization Center (IVC), where the data is indexed and uploaded into ASPEN 360. If a vendor still submits a paper invoice, the IVC is used to capture and index the document. The paper can then be shredded and recycled as part of Archive Systems' Go Green initiative.
This initiative has saved over 850 tons of packaging and raw materials in 2007. This conserves 14,500 mature trees, 395,000 gallons of oil, 20,400 gallons of gasoline, 3,500,000 kilowatt hours of electricity, 5,974,000 gallons of water, and 2,900 cubic yards of landfill airspace according to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries.
"The IVC is the perfect complement to our Go Green initiative. The main purpose of the IVC is to take paper out of the process. And because ASPEN 360 automates the AP process and stores all the approval information online, there’s no need to copy pages or manually route information throughout a company," said Rob DeVincent, Vice President of Product Marketing at Archive Systems.
ASPEN 360 also enables AP processors to work from home. All of the information they’ll need to approve an invoice is available online and can be securely accessed from any location. Once they approve an invoice, ASPEN 360 automatically routes it throughout the organization based on existing business rules.
