FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Imaging Solution Provides Backfile Conversion with No Upfront Costs
Fairfield, NJ, (December 26, 2002) - Archive Systems,
Inc., (ASI), a leading provider of innovative web-based hosted imaging and document storage
and retrieval solutions, announced today the launching of its Archive Scan-on-Demand
services. "We have positioned our Scan-on-Demand services to strategically resolve multiple
document-related issues facing corporations today" claims Rick Kushel, President and CEO
of Archive Systems. "Conventional wisdom dictated that in order to fully reap the benefits
of a document imaging system, you needed to perform some degree of a backfile conversion.
Through our Scan-on-Demand solution we enable our customers to gain all the benefits of a
backfile conversion without having to incur the upfront costs."
Archive Systems can provide this "virtual" backfile conversion through
its unique combination of document services, namely its Archive Track Record (which
provides for hardcopy storage and related services) and its Archive DocuLogic (its
technology solution that provides hosted, Web-based document imaging solutions including
document scanning). "Our clients can relocate highly active documents, which previously
needed to be stored in filing cabinets, to one of our Record Centers where they are
retrievable in as little as 15 minutes" says Kushel. "Imagine deploying a Web-based
imaging solution corporate wide, servicing a global office environment, in a matter of
days, and doing so for roughly the price of one high-speed scanner."
"Companies searching for a single vendor solution have finally found
a home" states Hank Boggio, Director of Sales at Archive Systems. "In the past, companies
with disparate geographic locations relied on finding a vendor with similar locations.
In this scenario, the customer is still left dealing with multiple management and support
teams with no consistency across locations other then the name on the vendor's invoice
each month."
In the Scan-on-Demand model, corporations have the ability to centralize
their file storage collection with Archive Systems, regardless of the geographic location.
Customers using the Archive Scan-on-Demand service send boxes of files out and retrieve
their requests in image format through a standard Web browser. There is nothing for the
client to install or maintain. Files are never "checked out", misplaced or in transit.
Once documents are received at Archive Systems, they are electronically logged into a
sophisticated Records Management database and available for immediate access.
