FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Solution Reduces Information Processing Time and Expedites Access to Business-Critical Information
Fairfield, NJ (February 03, 2003) Archive Systems, Inc., a leading
provider of web-based hosted imaging and document storage services, announces it has
recently contracted with The Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company (NYSE: GAP) to provide
its unique combination of document management solutions helping A&P streamline its
business processes. Archive Systems is initially deployed within the People Resources
department to reduce information processing time and increase employee access to
business-critical information.
A&P operates over 700 stores with 79,000 employees spanning 15 states,
Washington DC and Canada. Having previously deployed an imaging initiative with the intent
of better managing employee information, A&P was now searching to successfully expand on its
current limited, single-user system. The company desired to extend secure, instant access
to employee records to People Resources staff in multiple locations. They also sought to
maximize their financial return on a new solution by eliminating their in-house system and
labor-intensive, on-site scanning tasks. Archive Systems delivered comprehensive Web-based
image hosting, including high-volume off-site document conversion, scan-on-demand, and the
migration of the antiquated imaging system to Archive DocuLogic.
Using Archive DocuLogic, A&Ps People Resources department will more
efficiently processes several hundred employee records per day, and Archive DocuLogic offers
the scalability to easily extend the use of A&Ps PeopleSoft database. In addition, A&P
can now reduce storage costs by more easily tracking and eliminating unnecessary files.
Without investing in hardware, software or technology of any kind, A&P gained significant
business continuity and disaster recovery capabilities that are inherent to the Archive
Systems infrastructure.
