FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
SAS 70 is Internationally Recognized Standard for Validating Internal
Equipment, Controls and Security
FAIRFIELD, NJ (September 22, 2005) - Archive Systems, Inc.,
the premier provider of Document Process Outsourcing (DPO) services, today announced that it has
successfully completed its SAS 70 (Statement on Auditing Standards No. 70) Type II Report. Developed
by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, SAS 70 is the standard used to measure
the reliability of a service organization’s internal controls. Archive Systems has received an
"unqualified opinion" from its independent auditor J.H. Cohn LLP.
"We're very pleased with the results from our SAS 70 Certification process following
a very rigorous and diligent review conducted by J.H. Cohn," said Rick Kushel, Archive Systems’ president
and CEO. "Clients who realize the benefits of outsourcing their document management functions to
Archive Systems expect us to ensure that we have the proper controls in place, and such an opinion
from J.H. Cohn reflects the quality of our processes and controls, our solutions and our organization."
Archive Systems’ SAS 70 report describes client support processes, and documents
and evaluates the results of J.H. Cohn's tests of controls around those processes. Federal regulations
such as Sarbanes-Oxley, Gramm-Leach-Bliley and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability
Act (HIPAA) require corporations to audit the internal controls of their suppliers, including those
that provide document process automation services. By undergoing the SAS 70 audit, Archive Systems
can provide its customers with a comprehensive audit report that facilitates compliance with these
and other regulations.
In addition to helping clients meet regulatory requirements, the SAS 70:
- Asserts the quality of the processes and controls built into Archive Systems' solutions
- Affirms the strength of the Archive Systems operating environment
- Assures clients that document process automation services outsourced to Archive Systems are
managed and reported appropriately
"Our completion of the SAS 70 report is just one more reason why it makes
sense to outsource document process automation services to Archive Systems,” stated Kushel.
"Archive Systems streamlines document processes for our clients and provides a cost effective
solution to achieve regulatory compliance and adequate controls over the complete document
management lifecycle."
